Busy week here as we get into August.  The storage beets and carrots are up, 100 baby chicks just arrived, more and more tomatoes are coming to market; we are pickling like crazy, transplanting lettuce, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of four piglets this Sunday!

We are so happy with the health and productivity of our crops so far this first season in Lebanon.  With the bounty we are experiencing with squash, cucumbers and what looks to be a bumper crop of tomatoes, we hope you will take advantage of the season and think about putting up some of this great food.

We grow four types of cucumbers- all tasty and all different.  Pickling is safe and easy and the result can be both delicious and a welcome source of nutrition during the long winter months.  This Saturday we will be selling 5 lb bags of cukes of all different kinds for $4/bag.  We’ll be happy to give you some tips or point you toward some recipes that have worked for us.
